        • Fast 50: Southeast Michigan's Fastest-Growing Companies

Welcome to Crain's Fast 50, our annual look at companies that are showing the world how to grow.In the ranks of this year's list, based on results for the past three years, you'll find evidence everywhere of some of the biggest business and economic trends of the day: a rebound in construction as real estate prices rise and downtown Detroit sees a resurgence; rising automotive sales that spur the local economy, and bold acquisitions that offer overnight growth. We don't pick the companies by a pure percentage growth rate alone. Instead, we rank companies by percentage revenue growth between 2013 and 2016, and also by the dollar amount of revenue growth. The two rankings are then added together to create the list. The lower the number, the higher the final ranking.
